The PSL Cricket League was founded on 9 September in Lahore with five teams. The immense response from the crowd compelled the PSL organizers to add the 6th team to the league. In PSL 2017, PCB invited bids from the 6th team Multan Sultan which was initially bought by Schon Properties for about $5.2 million and became the most expensive team in PSL. But the rights were terminated by the organizers due to payment issues. Again, PCB invited bids for Multan Sultan and resold the team to Ali Tareen for $6.35 million for seven years.
